Research says it takes a lot of effort to reach the top in any desire profession, but it takes double or extra work to stay consistently at the top. These kind of situation is what we see in the lives of our favorite entertainers these days, seeing them reaching their peak is a joy for us, but we demand more from them, which sometimes they cannot deliver.
Sometime in 2008 or there about, a talented, fresh with new vibe and a hungry act for what standard means change the landscape and perception of what Hip-Hop should be in Nigeria. This young man is full of flow & punchlines that Nigeria’s Hip-Hop community is missing and he quickly creates a space for himself in an industry dominated by heavyweight such as Modenine, Ruggedman and Eedris Abdulkareem.

This talented young man am talking is no other person that M.I Abaga, who is arguably the biggest rap star from the African continent, in short period of time at his peak, he move the Rap genre of music into the mainstream market that’s dominated by pop music.

Though in the last few years, the M.I Abaga we love is not at his peak anymore, and it looks like he has lost his thirsty to be the immortal best we want him to be alongside the greatest rap artists of all time such as 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G, Kanye West & Jay Z.

Not only that we want M.I to get his grind back, but also birth new generation of Hip-Hop artists that can turn the table down not the hands of so-called Local or Commercial Rappers. This led to Pulse Nigeria‘s Gist & Entertainment Editor, Ayomide Tayo to write an open letter to Nigeria’s rap legend, in an article published on Pulse website.

On the track KEAD drops some hard-hitting facts and lines that has been on our mind over years of the existence of M.I Abaga to the Hip-Hop community in Nigeria.

The article published on the Pulse‘s website got M.I’s attention to go on Twitter to rants and also revealed that he will shift his flight today to join Osagie Alonge, Steve Dede and Ayomide Tayo on their Loose Talk Podcast today.

The Loose Talk Podcast, is a your favorite podcast talking pop culture and dropping knowledge, according to the Podcast’s official Twitter page description.

The next episode of the podcast with M.I will be available on Monday, where will discuss several issues such as the status of Hip-Hop in Nigeria, his career so far, his role as CEO of Chocolate City Music, the open letter saga and many others..
