Assu Strike

After several meeting with the government in many occasions. The academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), as suspended their 5 months strike, the ending of the general academic strike was end today Tuesday 17th December 2013.

According to Channels TV reports which report that the academic union as put an end to their 5 months marathon strike. It was due to their marathon meeting which was held in Minna, Niger on Monday.

According to ASUU Chairman  Dr. Karo Ogbinaka, of  University of Lagos Chapter , revealed that “We expect the students to resume and expect their members to go back to class immediately after the congress meeting and we expect the government to keep to the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)”

Both party will still have their meeting together in 2014, for their 2009 agreement issue of improving the standard of nigeria public universities.
