Yahaya Bello, Sworn In as Governor of Kogi

History was made in Kogi State, today Wednesday January 27th, 2016, as wealthy businessmen and politician Alhaji Yahaya Bello, was sworn in as the executive Governor of the state without having deputy governor.

Historical and memorable moment that change Nigeria political landscaped occur in Kogi today as Yahaya Bello, sworn in as Governor of Kogi.

The inauguration ceremony of Alhaji Yahaya Bello, as governor of Kogi State was held at the 25,000 capacity Confluence Stadium, which attracted thousands of residents of the state including the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, and other APC chieftains.

However, the deputy governorship candidates of the party in last election Mr. James Faleke, still stand on his word by not making himself available for swearing-in with the governor.

Mr. James Faleke was absent at the inauguration ceremony today and there is no replacement for him at the event.

As at writing this report, the legal implication of his absent at the inauguration ceremony remains unknown, because this is first time in Nigeria’s political history that deputy governor will not be sworn alongside with the governor.

If you can recall back, James Faleke has condemned the choice of Yahaya Bello, by the party leaders as a replacement for the late Prince Abubakar Audu, insisting that the party was supposed to have made him the governorship candidate following Audu’s death.
