Kendrick Lamar

American RapGod Kendrick Lamar leads the 61st edition of Grammy Awards 2019 with eight nominations mostly for his Black Panthersoundtrack project, follow-up by Canadian-American rap singer Drake, who had seven nominations, while folk singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile surprised with six nominations for her album “ By the Way, I Forgive You.”

Cardi B and Childish Gambino picked up five each, with Cardi B nominated for Album of the Year for Invasion of Privacy, making her the third female rapper in history to be nominated for that prize.

However, the biggest names in music were recognised by the Recording Academy Award as Shawn Mendes, Janelle Monáe, Alessia Cara, Cardi B, Camila Cabello and Zane Lowe are nominated for this year edition of Grammy Award 2019.

Sensational music stars such as H.E.R, Dua Lipa, Chloe x Halle, Luke Combs and others were nominated for the best new artist category. Cardi Bs Invasion of Piracy, Late Mac Miller’s Swimming, Pusha T‘s Daytona and others were nominated for the Best Rap Album of the year.
