#PMBinKano: Nigerians Questioned Buhari Integrity Claim for Endorsing Ganduje Despite Bribery Scandal

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari takes re-run 2019 campaign train to Kano State, and he was seen to have endorsed Gov Ganduje for a second term bid in office, despite bribery corruption allegation.

For endorsing the re-run bid of Gov Ganduje, Nigerians on social media have started questioning President Buhari integrity claim for supporting Kano State governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

About a few weeks ago, an undercover investigative journalist released a series of videos whereby Gov Ganduje was seen collecting bribe from contractors. Ganduje, on his part, has said the videos are “cloned”.

Buhari has been accused of selectively fighting corruption for not condemning Ganduje’s alleged bribery videos. He said last year that the governor was a “very responsible” man.

The governor is, however, covered by immunity. Only the State House of Assembly can probe him according to law. Buhari has said repeatedly that he has left the matter to the lawmakers to decide, as his respect to the rule of law.
