The wife of one of the most respectful politician in Nigeria and former leader & prime minister of Western Yoruba region Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Chief (Mrs) Hannah Idowu Dideolu Awolowo, died earlier hours of today.
She passed on in her sleep earlier hours of today, September 19th, at her home residence in Ikenne, Ogun state, at age 99, just two months before turning 100. She was born on November 25, 1915.
She achieved great fame and respect as confidante of her late husband Obafemi Awolowo, and she is also a custodian of his tremendous political and cultural legacy.
Late chief Hannah Awolowo’s grand daughter is the wife of the present Nigeria’s vice-president Prof Yemi Osibanjo.
