Forbes Africa 2014 Person of the Year Award Nominees

The leading American business magazine Forbes Africa has announced the nominees for this year edition of Forbes Africa 2014 Person of the Year Award.

For this year nominees will have 3 Nigerians on board – Aliko Dangote, author Chimamanda Adichie and Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Arunma Oteh.

The others 2 nominees are Thuli Madonsela, a South African advocate and the nation’s public protector who helped draft the country’s constitution in 1994 and was named one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People this year as well as Donald Kaberuka, the Rwandan economist who has ushered in significant change for the continent during his 10 years tenure as the president of the African Development Bank.

According to Forbes, the award seeks to reward “the individual who, for better or worse, has had the most influence on business on the year gone by”.

The event will hod on 4th of December 2014.

In the past 2 Nigerians have won the prestigious award, in 2011, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria while Akinwumi Adesina, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development for Nigeria. The 2013, goes to James Mwangi, CEO of Equity Bank, Kenya.
