The election tribunal sitting in Abuja, has removed the Taraba governor, Darius Ishaku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and declared Alhaja Aisha Alhassan of All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of April 11, 2015 governorship election in the state.
Alhaja Aisha Alhassan , become first female governor in Nigeria, though the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), declares Darius Ishaku, as the winner in the state.
The tribunal chairman, Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar while delivering judgment in the petition filed by the APC candidate Aisha Alhassan , held today reported that there was no valid candidate from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that contested the election.
The PDP did not hold a valid primary election, the tribunal ruled. It, therefore, ordered the immediate swearing-in of Sen. Alhassan, who is a minister-designate.
