In less down few days now, the much anticipated ministerial appointment will be out to the general public, according to the promise made by President Muhammadu Buhari, that he will released all the ministers in his cabinet this month.

However, according to report which claimed that DSS have screened the likes of renowned human right activists lawyer Femi Falana (SAN), Professor of Economist Pat Utomi, former Osun-State governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Festus Odimegwu and many others for the ministerial appointment.

About few weeks ago, a report also surface that President Muhammadu Buhari, was forced to change his ministerial nominees because 33 out of 36 of them failed a corruption litmus test.

Ever since the inception of President Muhammadu Buhari, he has made Nigerians understand that ” He belong to everybody and he also belong to nobody ” and he has also made it clears that he intending to work with “clean people that did not have any corruption allegation” and will do as much as possible to actualize this goal.

The way things is going right now, it seems that former governors Rotimi Amaechi and Babatunde Fashola might not make the ministerial list.

In recent time, both Rotimi Amaechi and Babatunde Fashola, have being label with several corruption allegation and also mismanagement of public fund, which is gradually tainting their chances of being appointed by Buhari.

Former River-State governor Rotimi Amaechi confirmed this on Sunday, August 2, 2015, while speaking at a reception organized in his honour in Abuja saying:

“Let me tell you what is currently going on in Rivers State. The governor and PDP are afraid of me getting an appointment to the national executive council because that will determine what the politics of Rivers State will be.”

“And they know that the current President abhors corruption and the only way they can stop me from getting the appointment is to paint me with corruption. And the people that know me in Rivers State know that I don’t like money,” he added.

The former river-state governor has being accused of embezzlement and mismanagement of public fund by his successor Nyesom Wike, who have also  set up a probe panel to investigate the administration Rotimi Amaechi.

While former Lagos-State governor Raji Babatunde Fashola, on the other hand has being accused of mismanagement of public fund  which can be traced to him of spending N78 million on a personal website and N139 million on two boreholes during his tenure as Lagos State Governor.

He has already replied to the allegation labeled against his image as that of his detractors had been paid to tarnish his reputation.

In contrast to Amaechi’s response to controversy surrounding his image, however, Fashola told his critics that he’s ‘not looking for a job.’

Both ex-governors Fashola and Amaechi has been pegged for political appointment in Buhari‘s cabinet, due to the role they play in the success of Muhammadu Buhari, has Nigeria President and also most especially due to Amaechi’s conversing votes for Buhari in the southern party of the country ahead of their own anointed son who is ex-president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, while Fashola’s reputation as a performing public servant.

However, due to the heavily criticism from opposition party Peoples Democratic Party‘s (PDP) claiming that Buhari is excluding his party members from the ongoing anti-corruption war, the president might be forced to exclude Amaechi and Fashola from his ministerial list.
