Former Ekiti State Governor between 2003 – 2006 Ayo Fayose, has won the PDP primaries election in the state. Ex Governor will be PDP party flag bearer in the next general election in the state.
He won with 462 votes out of 477 votes that cast at the party Secretariat in Ekiti. He won ahead of others aspiring candidates such as Caleb Olubolade, Peter Obafemi, Dayo Adeyeye, Biodun Aluko, Tunji Odeyemi and others.

On June 21st 2014, PDP candidate Ayo Fayose will go on head to head with APC candidate and present state governor Dr Kayode Fayemi.
Ekiti people will decide who wins the election.
