The 60th edition of annual Grammy Awards 2018 was held yesterday night, as the award show continues to shows it dominance in music industry’s flagship awards show. Heading into the Grammys night, Rap mogul Jay-Z and American pop star Burno Mars led the nominations pack, but Burno Mars eventually becomes biggest winner of the night as he went home with six Grammys plaque, followed by Kendrick Lamar who goes home with five Grammys plaque.
Burno Mars swept out the night by beating out the smash hit “Despacito” for ” Song of the Year ” with “That’s What I Like,” and winning ” Record of the Year ” and ” Album of the Year ” for ” 24K Magic ” over Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z and Childish Gambino. However, Legendary rap mogul and Tidal boss Jay-Z was completely shut out and went home empty-handed. Meanwhile, Alessia Cara won the ” Best New Artist ” category ahead of SZA in a controversial manner.
The 60th edition of Grammys handed out more than 80 golden gramophones in total from R&B to Gospel music, Rap Music to Soul and many others, including in dozens of categories whose winners were announced shortly before the live telecast. While Kendrick Lamar has already won five Grammys including ” Best Rap Song ” , ” Best Rap Performance ”, and ” Best Music Video ” for “HUMBLE” during the preshow, and eventually won ”Best Rap/Sung Performance ” for “Loyalty” with Rihanna and ” Best Rap Album ” for ” DAMN ” in the main show.
Electrify musical performances from Kendrick Lamar, Miley Cyrus, Kesha, Lady Gaga, Elton John ,Nick Jonas and many others, with Hillary Clinton made a surprise appearance at the 2018 edition of Grammys who read an excerpt from ” Fire and Fury “ book, while Cardi B and John Legend also reads the book.
