Since 1999 that democracy have started in Nigeria, the PDP party have supremacy over the opposition party in national assembly, this time around the opposition party APC, is now majority status in the 109 membership Senate.

However, according to the outcome of the result released out by Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) reported that the APC party now have 64 senators, while  the PDP party have 45 and lastly the Labour Party have 1 senators in the senate national assembly.

This implies that the incoming president Gen Buhuari,  is going to have great job to for him to win more people to his side, because among the PDP are social activists , lawyers and some addicted PDP members.

Before the  Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP)  had the majority status with 64 members while the APC has 41,  Labour Party, the Accord Party and the Social Democratic Party, shared the remaining 5 seats.However, the Current Senate President, David Mark who is returning to the Senate house for the 5th time, but he is about to lose his seat to an APC member .

Apart from David Mark and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu who won the election to return to the Senate, other principal officers like the Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma -Egba; his deputy, Abdul Ningi; Chief Whip, Bello Gwarzo; and his deputy, Hosea Agboola, all lost their bid to return.

Here are few APC members that might which to become the senate president, they are as followed, Senator Bukola Saraki, Dini Melaye, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Senator Oluremi Tinubu and many others.
