The issue of spiritual leaders inviting comedians to crack jokes in church is the latest topic in Nigeria gospel caucus.
Over the past few years, it has rampaged that comedians are fully paid to crack jokes on the podium that are meant for religious leaders.
Budding gospel minister and member of the defunct Infinite group, Kenny K’Ore, says it’s a BASTARD child that would make his father the object of mockery, and comedy, right in his father’s presence.
He started the discussion with Gbile Akanni statement :
I have never seen anybody that God ordained and he is a comedian. Now I am told that pastors now invite comedians to joke with the word of God. This is abomination in the sanctuary. I would not have worried if it was in a market. For you as a man of god to go and hire comedians. If you have nothing to do in the ministry please get out! If you have lost the anointing to bring the crowd go back and ask from God.
Kenny K’ore join the discussion by making this statement below:
Does a Voodoo man joke at the altar of Voodoo?, NO.
Does an Imam jest at the altar of Allah?, NO.
But Christians would bring clowns on the altar of YHWH to mock their maker.
Your days are numbered.
We serve a Holy, Consecrated, and Sanctified GOD.
All who must minister at HIS presence must be Holy, consecrated, and sanctified.
Comedians do not minister to the Spirit, rather they feed the flesh.
The Bible says,” For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.”-Galatians 5:17.
So how can you be feeding them both at the same time?

It is personal, when a comedian insults Jesus, GOD, or the Holy Spirit, i take it personal, and so should every true child of GOD.

The language of the Spirit is transcendent, and it can be understood by all spirits.
When you speak the language of the Spirit, even the deaf ears would hear and be saved.
If you take away everything that is wrong with comedy, you won’t have much comedy left.
But, you don’t need to become a sinner because you want to evangelize the sinners to Christ.

Every true believer does NOT argue with GOD’S word because even when they haven’t read it, the Spirit of Truth within, who teaches all Truth, confirms the Word and causes it to resonate within them.

Opinion were divided among Nigerians, over the issue of pastors hiring comedians to crack jokes in church, as Chocolate City Music act and budding gospel minister Nosa join the discussion.
I have a question. These buildings we build and call church or temple or sanctuary or house of God, on what scriptural basis are they to be called sanctuaries, seeing God does not dwell in temples made with hands?
Because for me, these buildings are monuments to the institutionalization of the word of God, the #1 problem of the body of Christ.
One of his fans Adewale Favoured Adeoye, add his own view to the discussion:
I’ve seen this picture several times yet decided not to comment, but when I see it again here I became curious. While I am not ready to enter an argument bout with anyone I will simply state what I feel. The person who came close in speaking my mind was the man who quoted Ps 2. I also follow what the Bible says not what a pastor says! I’m sorry to say there’s too much hypocrisy in the body of Christ. Most of those who come here and condemn comedians in churches will gleefully embrace them if they come to their church. Am sure Kenny K’ore has shared stage with one or 2. Did you by chance tell them it’s wrong to inspire life same way you do through music or to do it in church? Comedy is like acting as far as I am concerned. If a sister or brother fornicates and mount the altar to lead praise and worship nothing is wrong with that, right? If an armed robber, gay, lesbian, prostitute etc is very active in church and we don’t know about it: that’s cool, right? If the church stage is too holy to accommodate a comedian then how will you feel if you see a Christian brother or sister doing comedy in clubs? Comedy is a tool to bring many whom after are fed with the word just the same way as free medical outreaches and meals. Jesus chased out those buying and selling in the synagogue, but don’t we do multi-million trading in churches today? I am totally against those who twist the Bible but there are those who still reel out godly jokes that doesn’t offend. Lastly, the talent for comedy is it of God or the devil? I rest my case.

Bros I was reading And nodding my head. But the last few lines I clapped! You spoke my mind. Is comedy of God or of Satan? The place we call a sanctuary, no matter how you paint it with scripture is just a building. We can hallow it unto God, but the Holy Spirit will go where 2 or 3 are gathering in the Name of Jesus. Some churches use hotels for their meetings and the presence of God shows up. As for the gathering? What is it about? I must say I don’t like when comedians come and make light of a moment of worship. But if they’re given a programme in church, built around their comedy, and if they stick to godly jokes, I see nothing wrong with giving them the podium. I’ve seen comedians lead people to Christ.

I’ve seen some of them like Holy Mallam, and SACO really making efforts not to be sacrilegious, and irreverent, but comedy thrives on breaking the norm, on mockery, idle, and careless words.
If you take everything wrong with comedy away from comedy, you won’t have much comedy left.
And this has nothing to do with a physical building.
Wherever two or three are gathered in HIS Name, HE is there in their midst.
So even if we are in your car and someone uses witty words to snide at GOD, and HIS Word,
No matter how funny,
Such a person has insulted the Holy Spirit of our sweet fellowship.
GOD can not honor HIS Name in your mouth, when your mouth is fowl towards HIS Name.
And from the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.
The altar of YHWH is in our hearts, and this comedians indict themselves when they make jokes of the sacred.
