Edafe lost his family to the cold hands of death at the young age of 11 as a group of armed robbers brutally murdered them. Edafe made the error of neglecting to lock the doors, which allowed burglars to enter their family home.
After being a disturbed tout in the slums for a while, Edafe transforms into Maje, the charismatic king of the slums, as a result of overwhelming remorse and pain.
