According to producer of The Wedding Part 2, Mo’Abudu reportedly said that the movie has raked N20M on its opening day. ” The Wedding Party 2: Destination Dubai ” was a movie that portray Nigeria and Nigerians in a good light, humorously displacing certain negative perceptions.
The Nigerian media mogul and entrepreneur Mo’ Abudu took to her Instagram page to announced the record that the movie breaks at the cinema:
“Thank you, Nigeria! Incredible, we have broken another record. The biggest opening day in the history of Nollywood! N20m day one of the box office. Last year we did N9.6m on our opening day! It’s double this year Lord we thank you, we are grateful. Please Nigeria, go watch #TWP2 this weekend. It’s a roller coaster of laughs, drama and romance. You will love it, no kidding!” she wrote.
The world premiere held on Sunday, December 10, 2017, at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, had Mo Abudu, Banky W, Adesua Etomi, Enyinna Nwigwe, Ireti Doyle, Patience Ozokwor, Ita Giwa, Omoni Oboli, Beverly Naya, Niyi Akinmolayan, AY Makun among others in attendance.
