With less down few hours to go, the highly anticipated African most-watched reality show, Big Brother Naija Season 5 will hit our TV Screen. Early this week, the organiser of the reality show, MultiChoice Nigeria, made the announcement for the commencement of the show via a statement on its official social media profiles.

For the fourth straight year, Nigerian media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu was announced as the host of the Big Brother Naija Season 5 for the year 2020, while the winner of this year edition will go home with a cash prize worth N85million, the highest so far since the inception of the show.
In addition is a two-bedroom apartment, Champions League finale trip, one-year supply of Pepsi, branded chiller, a trip to Dublin, home appliances including TV, premium fridge and several other prizes.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a virtual audition was held to select contestants for the show. Video submissions were received from 20 May to 30 May 2020. In the submission, interested contestants submitted a two-minute video stating why they should appear on the show. At the end of the online audition, over 30,000 contestants showed their interest.
