In business, every business or company usually believe that they are superior to their competitors in order for them to drive more customer to their product or services.
This can be implies to our network providers over the years, who believes that they have superior network quality when compared to others and this is evident through their ad campaigns.
It’s no more news that Nigerians network providers do throw jibes at each-others in their commercial ads and the latest is coming from Airtel in a new commercial video ads tagged ” Welcome to Airtel ‘‘. The video recently surfaced on Youtube and I must say it’s cleverly done.
The video started with young man calling with a yellow phone (which indicate yellow brand logo for MTN) and also holding a yellow bag.
He was trying to make a call, but the call doesn’t go through and the young man throws the phone away out of frustration. As he throw away that phone, the yellow bag beside him suddenly grows a pair of legs and starts running. The man chases the bag till it runs into an Airtel office where the man was welcome with a red phone (Airtel) and the yellow bag was returned to him, turning to red instantly.
However, with the video one might think that Airtel is better down MTN in terms of network quality, even if that really the case? Do you think Airtel is in the right position to “diss” another network?
In my opinion, I think all the network providers in Nigeria are the same. Because an average Nigerian has “tasted” almost every network and they always leave a sour taste in the mouth. Airtel has issues, MTN does, Etisalat does and Glo isn’t left out. Basically, what I’m saying is that they all suck.
