Following the blackface cover art that Pusha T used for his replied diss track to Drake yesterday, the Canadian-American rapper and OVO Sound boss Drake has addressed the controversy of a photo of him appearing to be in blackface.
In a lengthy post on his Instagram Stories, Drake highlights his struggle as a black actor then and raise frustrations about black actors “not always getting a fair chance in the industry”. He further said that it was taken as part of a project while working as an actor – and not for a clothing brand shoot.
Pusha T has used the photo to promote ” The Story of Adidon ”, a diss track between two rappers.
Please stop referring to this picture as “artwork”…I’m not an internet baby, I don’t edit images…this is a REAL picture…these are his truths, see for yourself https://t.co/gd6vRS3HM8 pic.twitter.com/2el58HEZ8F

However, Drake did not mention Pusha T by name or reference the song, merely concluding, “This was to highlight and raise our frustrations with not always getting a fair chance in the industry and to make a point that the struggle for black actors has not changed much.”
