Nigeria music industry is the biggest industry in the continent of Africa, but the industry is another market that the western world foresee to tap into. The continent of Africa represents 16% of the global population (over 1.1b people), while 9% of that number are on social media.
Former M.I and Wizkid manager and who currently managed Solidstar and Waje, Godwin Tom and his company ” The Godwin Tom Company ” embark on a new series of conversations with Music business executives, stakeholders and influencers from African and global Markets.
The first edition of this ” Music Business Series with Godwin Tom ” focuses on “Managers and Their New Roles“.
Godwin Tom aims to unite music lovers and stakeholders across the continent by discussing issues affecting the industry as well as discussing the opportunities in Africa’s constantly growing and evolving market. We encourage people from across the continent and the diaspora to contribute ideas, solutions and concepts that will move the industry forward.
The first edition has Barkue Tubman-Zawglo, Former VP Family Tree Entertainment and Violators Management. Who has worked with Donell Jones, Outkast, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliot, Macy Gray and others. Alongside with Dumi Oburota, who is founder of lifestyle brand Disturbing LDN; Manager of Tinie Tempah and Wizkid, Janet Nwose is Asa‘s Manager and Abuchi Peters, who is business manager, Chocolate City Music.
