The sixth edition of MTV Africa Music Awards 2016, was held at Ticket Pro Dome, Johannesburg, South-Africa. The event was hosted by Bonang Matheba and co-hosted by Yemi Alade and Nomzamo Mbatha.
American Hip-Hop star Future delivers electrifying performance at the MAMA stage alongside with others African finest artistes such as Wizkid, Cassper Nyovest, Yemi Alade, Ycee, Falz, Korede Bello, Sauti Sol and other entertains Africans with their various hits. 
Nigerian pop star Wizkid is biggest winner of this year edition as he goes home with ” Best Male Artistes of the Year ” and ” Best Male Act ” category, while Yemi Alade on the other hand goes home with ” Best Female Act ” in Africa, for second straight year.
Rave of the moment pop star Tekno wins ” Best Breakthrough Act ” ahead of Falz, Simi, Emtee, Nasty C and others, while Patoranking wins the ” Song of the Year ” award in partnership with Google and Drake wins the ” Best International Act ” category ahead of Future, Adele and Rihanna.
