Nigeria music industry had it first legal battle in year 2015 between rising star Cynthia Morgan and Queen Ure.
According to several reports and document of injunction case file by Queen Ure, reported that A Federal high court in Lagos on 29th of December, 2014 gave an injunction restraining Cynthia Morgan, Radio Dj’s, Tv Stations, promoters from using the word Popori by Cynthia Morgan which is an infringement on Queen Ure’s copyright.
Queen Ure’s first video which was released in November, 2012 was titled Popori and she also named her 15-track album which she released the following month Popori as well.
Queen Ure says artistes must be made to respect each other.
Morgan, however, released her single ‘Popori’ on November, 2014. She felt Queen Ure went too far and took a swipe at her on Twitter after receiving the court injunction saying, she is still trying to find out who Ure is cus google has got nothing on her.
