Nigerian Afro-house singer, song-writer and Naija Review act Niniola reach historical milestone as she becomes first ever Nigerian female artist to have over 1million monthly listeners on world’s leading music streaming service Spotify.
According data report from the music streaming platform, Niniola has a total of 1,004,093 monthly listeners ahead of her fellow female colleagues in the Nigeria music industry such as Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Simi, Seyi Shay and others. The data further revealed that her fellow colleagues Tiwa Savage trails Niniola with 456,261 monthly listeners, Yemi Alade with 339,890, and Simi has 80,823.
Over the past few years, The singer-songwriter has created a music genre for herself called AfroHouse which is a blend of Afrobeat and House music. In November last year, she released her debut album ‘This is Me’. The ‘This is Me’ album contains hit songs such as‘Saro’, ‘Magun’, ‘Maradona’ and ‘Sicker’ which have been receiving a lot of airplay.
The music streaming platform, which measures artiste popularity with listenership has solidified Niniola’s music among music lovers crowning her with the coveted title of the most popular Nigerian female artiste.
