Barely about few weeks ago, Former EFCC Chairman and Presidential aspirant of ACN, in 2011 general election Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, dump the opposition party for the ruling PDP.
Many political observer say that he has lost his gospel for good governance, however before he pledge his loyalty for the PDP, a group of young politicians in the state want him in PDP, and also to contest for the governorship primaries election in the state.
But it was unfortunate that he could not win the waiver from the presidency to run for the state primary election in state, due to some powerful PDP politicians in the state. The ”waiver” means that politicians must have being in the party for period of 3 moths before contesting for any post.
When some people told Nuhu Ribadu that he is not yet a political heavy-weight, he did not agree. Now the saga is getting clearer and interesting.
Out of 14 aspirants jostling for Adamawa Governorship ticket under the PDP, 8 of them including Nuhu Ridabu, step down from the governorship race.
After 4 hours meeting session with Senate President David Mark, and others top politics in PDP, at the Banquet Hall of the State House, reached a compromise with the aspirants and pruned down the number of those contesting to six.
The 6 aspirants for the primaries election on Saturday were Ahmed Gulak, Buba Marwa, Ahmed Modibbo, Umar Ardo, Jerry Kumdisi and Ag Gov Umaru Fintiri , but the will not run for any post in 2015 election in the state.
While the likes of Nuhu Ribadu, Auwal Tukur, Aliyu Idi Hong, Andrawus Sawa, James Barka, Gen. Aliyu Kama,Markus Gundiri and Abubakar Girei can run for any post in 2015.
It is expected that Ribadu will try his luck under PDP again in 2015, all things being equal.
