After several months of speculations, the deputy governor in charge operation at Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Adebayo Adelabu has Resigns from his post. Nigeria’s President Buhari formally accepted his disengagement today, according to the statement released out by the Presidency.
Over the past few months, Adebayo Adelabu has been speculated to be the person that the Oyo State governor Senator Abiola Ajimobi, want to hand over the affair of the state to come to the 2019 general election.
Adelabu is a direct grandson of late Adegoke Adelabu (a.k.a Penkelemesi), an articulate grassroots politician of the pre-independence political era in Oyo State.
Though, he will be competing for the APC primaries governorship ticket with the Minister of Communication & Technology, Barrister Adebayo Shittu, commissioner of Health in the state, Dr. Azeez Adeduntan and other candidates in the party.
