Despite all the ongoing controversy surrounding the announcement of Colin Kaepernick has the new face of Nike, for its “Just Do It” 30th-anniversary campaign, with its tagline “Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything.”
The world’s leading sports wear brand, Nike has released a full-length clip of the campaign, whereby Collin Kaepernick narrates the advert but first physically appears midway through. As a camera pans to reveal Kaepernick‘s face, a reflection of a United States flag is visible on the facade of a building behind him.
In the 2 minutes and 6 seconds video, Collin touches the controversy of NFL players protesting racial inequality, police brutality and other issues by demonstrating during the national anthem and also narrates through the ad, speaking powerful lines like: “If people say your dreams are crazy, if they laugh at what you think you can do. Good. Stay that way. Because what non-believers fail to understand is that calling a dream crazy is not an insult, it’s a compliment.”
The powerful video features both sports powerhouses like Serena Williams and LeBron James and lesser-known names like Shaquem Griffin, the one-handed football player who was recently drafted into the NFL.
