Nigeria Afro-pop singer D’banj, was among international music stars that performed at this year edition of world bank event for Global Earth Citizen Day 2015 in Washington DC, USA.
He did not just performed at the event, but he has a dedicated song to women empowerment which was released out last week titled ” Extraordinary ”.
A week ago, after dedication of his new smashing single ” Extraordinary ” to Women empowerment and raising awareness about poverty and other related issues , he just received a major shout out from World Bank President, Jim Kim.
The World Bank President, Jim Kim, send out a special commendation and shout to D’banj, through his social media accounts such as Facebook and LinkedIn page, saying:
‘I recently met one of Nigeria’s most dynamic performers, the singer-songwriter, D’Banj. Last year, D’Banj spearheaded a campaign urging African governments to increase their investments in agriculture.’
He also premiered the new song ” Extraordinary ” shortly after the event as the first artist to participate in the World Bank’s new series, ‘#Music4Dev’, encouraging global artists to raise awareness about poverty and related issues.
