Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, was guest yesterday night on CNN with award wining presenter Amanpour, discussing the ”’ Nigeria’s Nightmare For Girls”.
Renowned Nigeria Novel writer Wole Soyinka, spoke on about the issues of insecurity in the nation and was not pleases with the way President Goodluck Jonathan was not capable of countering the menace of the violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram.
Soyinka, accused the present and the past leader of Nigeria, of living in self-denial, by believing that they could negotiate or “appeal” to “murderers and killers” to stop their activities. He says that the issue of terrorists sect of Boko Haram in Nigeria, could have forgotten if President have sought help from international community in the past.
He further fault the visit of late Nigeria president Umaru Yar’Adua, for visiting the family of late Boko Haram leader Yusuf Mohammed, who was killed in police detention in 2009.
When ask about his reaction to the pronouncements and actions of the wife of the President, Dame Patience Jonathan, on Monday, the Nobel Laureate said, “That one that calls herself the First Lady of Nigeria? I don’t want to talk about her.”
