2) Call The Police if There Is Any Damage
If your car insurance policy has you covered, then contact an auto body shop to assess and repair any damage. If your insurance deductible is low, it might make sense to pay out of pocket and take a hit on your driving record instead of paying higher premiums for years after.
Either way, you should call your insurance company as soon as possible (the sooner you report an accident, the less likely it is that another driver’s insurer will come back to haunt you later).
It’s also worth calling law enforcement if there’s any property damage; if anyone was injured, notify their respective agencies.
Even though most state laws say police reports are not required in minor accidents—you may want to insist on one if someone involved isn’t insured or they have little/no assets.
