Delegates from the ongoing Nigeria Conference plenary session in Abuja, on Monday June 16th, 2014, approved an amendment asking the federal government of Nigeria, to declare state of emergence in the power sector in the country, in order for them to fulfill the promise of the late President Umaru Yar’Adua, power sector agenda.
The proposed amendment was chaired by former Oyo State Governor and National Leader of Accord Party Senator Rasheed Ladoja.
However the delegates rejected the proposed of banning the importation of generating sets into Nigeria and dropped an amendment seeking the use of generating sets in Nigerian market.
