Indigenous Nigeria singer Tillaman, also known as Tilla has finally revealed why he leave the Shina Peller’s Aquila Records.
In recent chat with Sunday Scoop, the ” Komoro ” singer said that his contract with the label expired and he don’t fell like renewing his contract with the label.
Tillaman is one of Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi’s son and also a cultural ambassador for Oyo-State.
He said:
“My contract with Aquila Records expired and I felt the need to start my own record label. There are a lot of things I cannot do as an artiste under a record label, but I can do more if I own my company. My music journey has grown to a level that I want to have control over the materials I put out at all times.”
He continued:
“Change is something we cannot stop; we have to learn to grow. I didn’t have any problem with Aquila Records. I am even closer to Shina Peller now than when I was with the label. He is a wonderful individual and I still seek his advice anytime I need to do things in music or in my personal life. When his father, Professor Peller, was alive, he used to come to the palace to mesmerise us with magic. So, Shina Peller is like a big brother to me.”
