1. Carandiru Penitentiary
The Carandiru Penitentiary in Brazil, South America, is often regarded as the world’s most brutal and lethal prison. In 1992, 102 convicts were shot and killed in a brutal prison massacre. The prison is also noted for having serious health issues. Nearly one in every five convicts in the prison’s health section has been diagnosed with HIV.
Despite the fact that the world outside is hazardous, prisons are unquestionably among the most violent places on the planet. Prisons capture the world’s most dangerous people and confine them to confined spaces.
