6. Fernando Torres (£50m – Liverpool to Chelsea, 2011) Flop
When he forced through a deal to Chelsea in the January 2011 transfer window, Torres broke the hearts of Liverpool fans. While at Stamford Bridge, the Spaniard often battled to live up to his enormous price tag because of his £50 million transfer cost, which at the time appeared absurdly high.
After helping the Blues win the Champions League in 2012, he left the team two years later after falling short of expectations.
