British born professional boxer Tyson Fury beats American Deontay Wilder, in a seven-round victory that sees the Mancunian born boxer claim the heavyweight title.
The 34-year old, Tyson Fury (30-0-1, 21 KO) scored knockdowns in the third and fifth rounds, may have burst Wilder’s eardrum in the third, and just completely owned the ring, manhandling and dominating his opponent, who suffers, obviously, the first loss of his career and falls to 42-1-1 (41 KO) in defeat.
Barely fourteen-month ago, Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder held a unification fight that ends in a controversial draw when he outboxed the champion only for two knockdowns to deny him the famous green belt – Fury had vowed to take the fight to the American.
Tyson Fury did just that, flooring the champion twice and completely dominating the action before referee Kenny Bayless stepped in to save the despairing, bewildered Wilder from more punishment.
“Big shout out Deontay Wilder. He came here tonight and he manned up and he really did show the heart of a champion,” Fury said after the fight.
“I hit him with a clean right that dropped him and he got back up. He is a warrior. He will be back. He will be champion again.
“But I will say, the king has returned to the top of the throne!”
