A Crucified Asset In Nigeria Turned Precious Stone In the Eyes Of Global Firm As Ex-Minister of Finance Ngozi Okonjo Iweala Appointed As Member of Twitter’s Board of Directors

World’s second Social networking giant Twitter Inc, has appointed former Nigeria minister of Finance Ngozi Okonjo Iweala as member of the company Board of Directors, alongside with Robert Zoellick as one of the new independent director, effective immediately.

The Appointment of Ngozi Okonjo Iweala comes following the several criticism of lack of diversity that the Silicon Valley’s company is facing in their executive ranks and boards. Marjorie Scardino will be stepping down from the Board for personal reasons at the end of the year.

Mr. Kordestani added, “On behalf of the Twitter Board, I want to thank Marjorie for her service on the Twitter Board over the past five years. Marjorie joined the Board in 2013 and has been a strong voice on our board as our Lead Independent Director. Marjorie’s insights and contributions have been invaluable, and all of us at Twitter wish her the best and look forward to her contributions through the end of the year.”
