As a city that never sleeps, Lagos is one of those destinations that offers so much than you bargained for. There is always something happening if you know where to look.

However, when the landscape no longer makes your knees weak and when the hustle and bustle (especially traffic) begins to make you feel all dizzy, it might be time to re-inject a bit of magic into your relationship with the city.

For those who have fallen out of love with Lagos (or those new here and haven’t had time to fall for it yet) let, Africa’s No.1 online hotel booking portal  take you gently by the hand and remind you of 6 amazing places which will reignite the spark you once had for Nigeria’s entertainment capital.

The New Africa Shrine

Lovers of music and dance will totally fall hard for this spot. First started in the early 1970s by Fela Anikulapo-Kuti but burnt down, the new replacement which is available today, is now run by his son Femi and daughter Yeni Anikulapo-Kuti. Every first Saturday at the shrine is the Fuji show.

Also, whenever they are in town, Femi Kuti plays for free on Thursday nights and does a paid show on Sundays, while Fela’s younger son Seun Kuti, plays the last Saturday of the month. The Shrine has different quotes of Late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti hangin on it walls which give insights to the thoughts of the late afrobeat legend.

Lagoon restaurant

The best way to enjoy food in Lagos is having it on a spot that overlooks the lagoon. Aside from the magnificent view, the smell of the sea breeze adds to the aroma of the food, amplifying its taste. Located on Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue, Victoria Island Lagos, the Lagoon restaurant features an outdoor space for revelers and food lovers who seek great cocktails, nice shisha, and palatable meals including Chinese, Indian or Lebanese cuisine, pizza and burgers. It is usually best to go to this spot with a group of people rather than alone.

Lekki leisure lake

A safe resort for authentic outdoor fun in Lagos, its tranquil lake is host to thrilling attractions and exciting watercraft rides from Jet Ski to Quad Bike, Pedal boat, Pontoon Boat and Wave Boat.
