Just days after his social media outburst with Sony Music‘s region West-Africa general manager Micheal Ugwu, Nigerian rapper and Tinny Entertainment act Ycee shed more light on his Sony Music deal through a per-recorded interview he had with Nigerian-American media personality Raro Lae.
The ” Juice ” crooner Ycee revealed vital information about his deal with Sony Music, saying he had a distribution deal with Sony while keeping 100% creative control of his music.
The ” Jagaban ” master says that the deal he had with Sony Music last year, improved his work ethic as an artist. He further spoke on Wizkid’s success in the global market, however, he also stressed the importance of every African artist knowing their niche and creating their own wave (instead of jumping onto the “popular” wave) and not negating the 1.2 billion African market.
In addition to music, YCee spoke of his rise to fame and experiencing it first hand while studying Marine Biology at the University of Lagos. He went on to speak about his professional/personal relationship with Falz and it is everything but — Something light.”
