The leading African urban music channel awards ”MTV African Music Awards 2014”, is one awards ceremony that show case the shinning stars of Africans continent. This year edition is supported by Absolut & The City of Durban.
The organiser of the awards late yesterday night, in South African, released out the lists of nominees for this year edition.
The prestigious awards ceremony was to celebrate African stars and the nomination were held at The Sands, Johannesburg , South African by MTV base VJS presenter Nomuzi Mabena and Siwze Dhlomo , alongside with Senior Vice President & Managing Director, Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Africa Alex Okosi, Channel Director, MTV Base Tim Horwood, and Shirley Mabiletja, Brand Manager: Absolut, Pernod Ricard South Africa.
Nigerians artists dominate the years edition, sweeping 11 nominees in 15 different categories — it truly that Nigeria music has taken over the African continent. HNK Gang leader Davido, top Nigeria musician with highest nominees in 4 different categories. Following P- Square with 3 nominees while Wizkid, was nominated in 2 categories while the likes of Omotola Jalade, Chimamanda Adichie, Burna Boy, Olamide, Flavour ,2face Idibia, Tiwa Savage, Dr Sid, Phyno, Kcee, Ice Prince among many others nominated in single categories.
