The veteran Nigerian comedian Basketmouth said that the nationwide protest could have been successful if other celebs in the industry spoke up. He made this statement yesterday at the concluded annual Nigeria Entertainment Conference 2017, which was held at Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
2face pulled out of the nationwide march after police apparently intimidated him. The comic master reported saying this the NECLive5: It would have been easier for 2face to hold his ground had other celebs spoken up.
‘It really pained me that we didn’t,’ the A-list comedian said.
The march went ahead but failed to make any serious impact because 2face, whom many Nigerians seemed ready to follow, was missing. 2face wanted to use the protest to talk about issues facing Nigerians.
