After two postponement failed attempts by the telcos companies to sabotage the hearing, legendary Nigeria music entrepreneur and recording artiste Dapo Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’banj, push the war of standard creative content owner royalties to the National Assembly against the telcos companies.
The fight against standard royalties payment bill for the creative artists was pushed forward by Hon. Ahmed Abu, with collaborate efforts from DKM Media & D’Cream Platform boss D’banj, alongside with veteran Nollywood actor Emeka Ike, PMAN Chairman Pretty Okafor, veteran Hip-Hop star Ruggedman and others.
On December 14 2017 , the Adhoc Committee ( #AdHocHearingNOV30 ) set up by the National House of Assembly to investigate allegations of malpractices and monumental fraud within the Telecommunication Industry. This revealed that the “STATUTORY ACT” of the Nigerian law, guiding contracts and policies between the Telecoms and the Nigerian MUSIC AND CREATIVE Artists and content makers has been grossly violated and BILLIONS of DOLLARS from accrued royalties that belong to Nigerian Musicians and the Music Industry have been fraudulently diverted by the Telecommunications companies and moved to foreign banks all TAX FREE. While the owners of the content , the Musicians and Creative artists continue to languish in poverty.

Like hip-hop in America the Nigerian AfroBeat was forged in the streets. Unlike religions that change with regions this music's vibes unifies the tribes. We should be celebrating its huge potentials not depriving its artists. #AdHocHearingNov30

Do you know there's a Nigerian Law that mandates 20% of all proceeds from VAS products to be remitted by the Telecom companies into a specific trust fund account, to b used for disaster victims, educatiob, the less peivledged, hospitals bt they don't. #AdHocHearingNov30 is for ALL pic.twitter.com/qHj3dvPQ4u

The law states clearly that the sharing is 70% to artists n 30% to telcos n content providers.Doin anything different is illegal n fraudulent n that's what honourable @AhmedAbuMP2 #AdHocHearingNov30 exposed. RT

When we talk about Creative Artists we are talking about our children, our youths, our brothers and sisters. Why then does it have to take a Commitee to get them fair hearing? #AdHocHearingNov30
