It is no longer news that Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade , is dead because the palace staff has announced the death of the royal highness about few days ago.
However, according to several report going viral on social media reported that the final burial rites for the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Sijuwade has been stalled, as the ‘‘ abobaku ” is currently on the run.
In Yoruba tradition ‘‘ abobaku ” is someone that die with the king whenever the king die because the king cannot be buried alone according to custom and the ‘‘ abobaku ” chieftain is entitled to some family in Yoruba tradition.
The ‘‘ abobaku ” during the days of king usually enjoy the same luxury lifestyle like the King and also given same honour just like the king in the community.
