Diego Armando Maradona
Maradona is one of football’s all-time great players, but he’s also one of the game’s all-time cocaine addicts.
After a tumultuous career of cocaine usage, possession, and distribution during his playing days and in retirement, the soccer demi-god died in 2020.
During his stay in Napoli in the 1980s, his drug and sex worker vices led him into a trap with the local Italian mafia, which landed him in difficulty with the Italian police later that year.
Apart from a 15-month suspension from Napoli in 1991, Maradona was also arrested in Buenos Aires, Argentina that year for carrying 500 grams of cocaine.
