Veteran entertainment industry player, CEO of Storm 360 and Special Assistant to the outgoing Nigeria president Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, on social media Obi Asika, losses his beloved mother about few days ago.
He worked as Special Assistant to the president on social media and also been in charge of President Jonathan’s image and campaign on all social media platforms since he was appointed in February 2015.
He confirmed the news on his official Facebook page with following words:
“My mother passed on unexpectedly but quite peacefully in her sleep and I want to thank all who have called, sent messages, and all her families everywhere. My mother was all love, love for people first, then Nigeria and everything about her language, people, culture, art, music and literature,” he began
Continuing, he wrote, ‘She has always been the inspiration and driver for all that we do and it has been my eternal privilege to be her only son. It is impossible for me to discuss her in the past tense because I know she lives on within me and so many others.
‘She has always said how she would like to go when it was her time, peacefully with a smile on her face. I thank the good Lord for granting us that favour and sparing her any pain or trauma, that was reserved for us who she left behind. Goodnight Mum your work here is done and God bless and keep you amen.
‘My younger sister Uju has been able to express what so many of us feel and one day maybe I too will be able to express myself in such beautiful language, thanks uju your words as always are pure poetry and pure love. Thanks everybody if I missed your call i apologise its a difficult time for all of us,‘ he concluded.
Media Personality Funmi Iyanda Appointed as Ambassador for United Nation
Veteran media personality, former ” New Dawn” TV Talk Show and Etisalat Nigeria brand ambassador Funmi Iyanda, has been appointed as one of the ambassador for United Nation Women Gender Equality champions to help promote and propel women empowerment and equality in Africa.
It comes as no surprise that Funmi has been chosen to run this course. She has always talked about the fair treatment of the female in the society and has multiple times encouraged the women folk to be able to stand up for themselves despite living in a ‘man’s world’.
Classic FM OAP Sylvester ‘Sly’ Ojigbede passed away after a brief illness
The world of Nigeria Broadcasting lost one of its member Sylvester ‘Sly’ Ojigbede.
Veteran On-Air-Personality Sylvester ‘Sly’ Ojigbede, of Classic FM, die during the week, after a brief illnesses.
The cause of death has not been revealed to the public yet.
The Economics graduate from the University of Lagos, always anchor the weekly day morning show from 6am-11am from Monday to Thursday on the station. He also presented the Classic X-Press from 6am to 12pm on every Saturday.
His colleagues have started mourning his untimely demise. “The hardest worker I have ever worked with my protégé, co-host and adopted nephew…it’s nothing but smooth sailing now biddy! I’m hurting so bad, but at least I had the honor of seeing you in your final hours. Thank you for being such a good guy. Ciao. Sly…peaceful journey. RIP” wrote his colleague Tintin.
Born in the 70’s Sly had the reputation of being a hardworker.
Skales Announced Concert for His Debut Album ” Man of The Year ”
Former Banky W’s EME Records label Skales, has announced album launch concert to promote his debut album titled ” Man of The Year ” .
The anticipated Skales, debut album titled ” Man of The Year ” , will be officially on sale by May 18th, 2015, but their will be an album launch concert to hold in Lagos on May 31, 2015 at the Federal Palace Hotel.
The event is going to be filled with never seeing performing from Skales, and his supporting artists for that day.
“We started rehearsals already…this has to be the most excited and most nervous I have ever been in my life but I promise it’s going to be the best concert yet” the Baseline General, Skales says.
Yoruba Actress Moji Olaiya, losses her Brother
Veteran Yoruba Nollywood actress Moji Olaiya, lost her beloved big brother Alfred Olaiya, on May 4th, 2015.
According to insider sources revealed that her brother Alfred Olaiya, cause of death is yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing this report but the actress confirmed her brother’s death with an Instagram post where she shared his obituary.
In her words, ‘Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I will miss you until we meet again. I will miss you dear brother Abide mi Olaiya R.I.P.‘
