Rave of the moment rap star and Tinny Entertainment act Ycee, has signed an exclusive deal with Sony Music Entertainment today in South-Africa.
The new deal will see Ycee releases his first EP ” The Waves ” to be release under the Sony Music imprint. The new deal is part of Sony Music Entertainment’s expansion across the Africa continent.
Confirming the news, the General Manager of Sony Music Entertainment, West-Africa, Micheal Ugwu have something to say about the new deal with Ycee :
“I’m extremely proud to welcome Tinny Entertainment and the amazing talent that is Ycee to the Sony Music Entertainment West Africa family.”
He further says he had monitor the growth of Ycee in recent years and he sees him as next poster boy for the future of Hip-Hop in Africa.
I’ve watched this team grow over the past few years and I am amazed at how they have navigated the industry to reach this stage.
“Ycee is the future of hip-hop in Africa and we will be front and centre of SME West Africa’s strategy as we take Africa to the world,” Ugwu said.
Ycee took to Instagram to share his excitment. He posted an image from the signing with the caption:
“Great things happening, alongside Tinny Entertainment, I’m so proud to become part of the Sony Music family!!”
This new arrangement sees the ‘Omo Alhaji’ rapper joining the likes of Davido and Wizkid as part of the Sony Music.
