Veteran musicians and Afro-pop singer Innocent Idibia, know as 2face Idibia, were among few entertainers that did not campaign or endorse any politicians during the 2015 general election in Nigeria.
During electioneering campaign of 2015 general election, our entertainers such as Don Jazzy, Olamide, MI, Banky W, Yemi Alade, Ice Prince, Uti, and many others endorse or campaign for politicians that are seeking for the post of public office, while the Afro-pop singer 2face Idibia, used the election season to promote his campaign on ” Vote Not Fight ” initiatives.
On Tuesday, May 19, 2015, was the grand finale of the initiatives campaign tagged ” Vote Not Fight ” and it was held at the Primal Hotel , Lagos.
During the programme legendary singer 2face Idibia, disclosed what the electoral initiative cost him monetarily. According to the pop star, The ‘Vote not Fight’ campaign cost him a sum of One Hundred and Fourteen million Naira in partisan and non-partisan shows and performances. 2face also rejected an offer to contest for a House of Representatives seat.
The finale of the campaign was internal review session with members of the Vote Not Fight campaign team and partners and ended with an interactive session with the media.
The session was attended by Founder of Smooth Promotions and Hip TV; Ayo Animashaun, country director of the National Democratic Institute; Jasper Veen, director of Youngstars Foundation, Bola Abimbola, 960 Music CEO; Mark Redguard, Founder of the Enough is Enough initiative; Yemi Adamolekun, Solabomi Okonkwo and Pamela Braide.
