Noted Nigerian novel writer and advocate for feminist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, ignited an interesting debate that sparked conversation on social media about feminism and marriage, during her conversation with Hillary Clinton at a literary event in New York.

The Nigerian novel writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, questioned former American Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on why she had a wife on her Twitter Bio, despite seeing herself as a feminist symbol.

“In your Twitter account, the first word that describes you is wife. And then I think it’s mom, and then it’s grandmother,” Adichie said at the PEN World Voices festival. “And when I saw that, I have to confess that I felt just a little bit upset. And then I went and I looked at your husband’s Twitter account, and the first word was not a husband.”
