Day in Day out, something aside music always brings Nigerian music star Davido‘s name into public. About few weeks ago, Davido jump upon a fundraising campaign that was created by Nigerian journalist for Ventures Africa goes by the name David Adeleke, which actually is namesake of the music star.
GYOnlineNG.COM gathers that Davido offered to pay the tuition fee of his namesake, David Adeleke, who create a campaign to the general public in order to assist him in meeting the financial requirements to attend a media workshop in Yale University.
The campaign David Adeleke posted on GOFundMe site had an expiring date for Friday, May 26, and Davido posted the tweet on May 9, 2017, saying he will help him out to further his career for the media workshop at Yale University in USA. “ We get the same name, I no get choice lol DM me ”.
Ever since Davido has come out that he will sponsor the bills of David Adeleke’s media workshop the turn out of people has decline, but the saddest story of the scenario was that Davido was unable to redeem his promise of paying the bill which is around $3,500.
The poor David Adeleke lost his cool yesterday, has he sliding shades Davido on Twitter for stealing the spotlight of gaining free PR and huge mentions of being a good Samaritan. Though, Fortunately for him, he had raised the amount he needed before the deadline elapsed.
As yesterday, was the closing date for the fundraising campaign on GoFundMe site and as Davido was unable to turn up to redeem his pledge for his namesake, he was called out by noted tech writer and editorial team of TechCabal.com, Osarumen Osamuyi (@SkweiRd) for not honouring the pledge he made by leaving him high and dry. 
Osarumen Osamuyi (@SkweiRd) made a thread out of the whole situation particularly because Davido had pledged to assist the poor journalist media workshop. 
Davido replies to the thread and wrote: “Yea I sent a wire yesterday from my American account which will reach him on Monday it’s an international transfer so you wouldn’t understand”.
