The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), has approved the request of twelve-man committee of Nollywood practitioners and stakeholders, the Nigerian Oscars Selection Committee (NOSC), by paving way for Nollywood movie in the prestigious World Movie Academy Award Oscar. Precisely next year indigenous Nigeria movie will be nominated in ”Best Foreign Language Film” category of the Academy Awards, otherwise called Oscars.
According the selected twelve-man committee of Nollywood practitioners and stakeholders, who will be select one movie to Oscar Awards Committee, include movie producer, directed, actor and others stakeholders in Nollywood industry are as followed Chineze Anyaene, Ngozi Okafor, Olumide Amure, Ramsey Nouah, Kene Mkparu, Emeka Mba, Chioma Ude, Akin Salami, Mildred Okwo, Biola Alabi, Charles Novia and Shaibu Husseini.
“It is a great opportunity for Nigeria to have a voice in the international film arena”, said Chineze Anyaene, film maker and committee chairperson.
