The highly anticipated 7th edition of Splash FM Ibadan Integrity Marathon Race , end in memorable moment of sportsmanship yesterday, at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo stadium in Ibadan.
An athlete from Plateau State, Harris Ismail, came 1st at the 7th edition of Splash FM Ibadan, integrity marathon race in Ibadan,Oyo-State capital.
He goes home with grand prize of N600, 000, while Sharabutu Philips from Nasarawa State, who came 2nd in 2013 and 5th in the 2014 editions of the marathon race finished 2nd, winning grand prize of N300,000 for his effort.
An athlete from Nasarawa State, Abdulahi Ibrahim, who finished 4th last year edition, came third to win a grand prize ofN150,000. While in the female category, a 19 year-old student of the College of Education, Ginndiri, Plateau State, Deborah Pam, came first the female session, while Lydia. Micahel from Nasarawa State won the N200,000 prize money for coming second.
Harris Ismail, finished his race in a record time of 2.39:58hrs, while Deborah Pam, finished her own race in a record time of 3hrs, 3mins and 23 secs, both athletes set new record in the marathon race respectively.
The integrity marathon race is co-sponsored by owner of Splash FM Ibadan, Chief Adebayo Akande and PDP governorship candidate in the state Senator Teslim Folarin.
