Saraki for President 2023: The Race Begins
Dr. Bukola Saraki, the former President of the Senate, has announced his ambition to run for president in the 2023 general elections, according to Vanguard.
Saraki announced his desire during a visit to Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State on Tuesday in Makurdi, whom he described as a good party man in the People’s Democratic Party.
Saraki was in Makurdi with former Kogi State Governor Idris Wada, former PDP National Chairman Kawu Baraje, Senator Suleiman Adokwe, and the Chairman of the Saraki for President Campaign, Prof. Iyorwuese Hagher, according to the newspaper.
“A political party that cannot organize its affairs has no business leading this country. A party that has organized its affairs is ready to lead the country and that is the PDP,” Saraki is said to have stated.

Ortom, on the other hand, claimed that the PDP was on a rescue mission to save Nigeria from the current APC administration.
Saraki was also the first from the North Central zone to proclaim his intention in running for president, according to him.
The former Governor of Kwara State also indicated on Twitter that he was willing to cooperate with the party’s North Central stakeholders and thanked them for their warm welcome.
He wrote, “I thank Governor Ortom and all our party stakeholders and supporters in the state for the warm reception, and I look forward to working with them to foster the growth and development of our party and the nation.”
