Seyi Makinde Fires Media Aide Adigun Ibadan, for Posting Misinformation About the State Government Affairs On Facebook

Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has sacked his Special Assistant on Digital Media, Muritala Adigun, popularly known as Adigun Ibadan, for posting false information on social media about the state government’s efforts on fighting the coronavirus pandemic.

In the last few days, Adigun Ibadan posted a lot of misinformation posts on his social media handle about the state government affairs.

But the recent one that led to his sacking is that of disinfecting tools procured by the Lagos State Government days ago, which he claimed were procured by the Oyo State Government.

However, the governor of Oyo State on Friday 27th of March relieved him from his duty as Special Assistant on Digital Media.

The letter of termination of appointment, signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Olubamiwo Adeosun, was handed to him on Friday.

“I wish to convey the approval of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, on the termination of your appointment as Special Assistant (Digital Media), with immediate effect.” the letter read in part.

However, after apologizing for publishing misleading information on social media, Adigun claimed his Facebook page was hacked by some ‘APC agents of darkness’ to discredit him.
